I Bought You Mail Order. My Plain Wrapper Baby. Your Skin Is Like Vinyl. The Perfect Companion.

We've all been there. Echo's of "last call!" ringing fresh in our ears, our thirst for liquor still raging inside. We crave something more. We crave after hours excitement. If the masses end up back at your abode, there are two issues one must deal with: do we have enough booze and more importantly do we have enough good music to keep the party going to the breakadawn? If the answer to the latter is no, have no fear. Perfection is just around the corner. Back To Mine is a compilation series that polls your favorite artists on what they like to groove to when the vision begins to blur and the judgement calls become questionable. Previous participants include Everything But The Girl, Groove Armada, Orbital, and Faithless to name a few. One of my favorite appearances is from New Order. Back To Mine: New Order finds Bernard Sumner and Co. mining their their crates for some sublime after hours grooves from the likes of Primal Scream, Can, Captain Beefheart, and Doves. Acting as both a soundtrack to the wee small hours of the morning as well as a musical history lesson, BTM has enabled me to discover a wealth of new bands, remixes, and hard to find cuts. For your listening (dis)pleasure, 4 of my favorite tracks:

Roxy Music: In Every Dream Home A Heartache

Primal Scream: Higher Than The Sun

Can: Mushroom

Donna Summer: I Feel Love (Patrick Cowley Mix)
