To set the record straight, I don't play golf. Hell, it's hard for me to watch the Master's highlight reel on Sportscenter. However there are times when exceptions shall be made. This is such time. The lovely Mrs. Vicar has a co-worker whose husband is coordinating the upcoming Stan Humpries celebrity Golf Tournament here in beautiful San Diego, (www.stanhumphries.com) and mentioned that some volunteers were needed to escort the celebrities around the course and make sure all of their whims are taken care of. I offered my assistance and guess who I've been paired up with? None other than Mr. Adrian Young, drummer extrodinaire for No Doubt! I know! Being a drummer myself I am beside myself with geekdom glee! A whole 18 holes to spend picking his brain about every drum related nuance I can think of. But the best part is that we get attend the cocktail party/dinner afterwards with all the celebrities. Free food! Free booze! Maybe Adrian & I will get absolutely schlammered together, bond over our shared propensity for mowhawks and thongs, and then maybe he'll ask me to be his drum tech on No Doubt's next worldwide tour. Sure, sure. A rabid music can always dream, can't he?
