Take A Picture Of Me, Show It To Everyone. No More Pictures Of You, No More Love No More Setting Sun.
You want to know why 12 Memories is my favorite Travis album? Probably because not too many other people consider it theirs. As the most underrated album in their catologue, Fran Healy & Co. expertly transmit feelings of dread, loss, depression and confusion while dragging the listener down the drain with them. We're talking shit creek with no paddles. 12M also finds the band at their performing peak; playing with such intensity and drive that you almost feel like you're in a cramped recording studio with the band, hovering and hunched over your own misery. This record came to me at a time in my life when I was unsure of myself and my surroundings. It fed off my fear and propelled me into a tailspin that that took a lot of effort to pull out of. But looking back, I have a special place in my heart for this collection of songs. Even though they scarred my heart. For your listening (dis)pleasure:
Travis: Somewhere Else
Travis: Happy To Hang Around
Travis: Quicksand
Travis: Love Will Come Through
{{BONUS!!! New track off of the forthcoming Boy With No Name out May 7th}}
Travis: Closer
